Hotelmark

Website by accommodation type

A hostel isn't a B&B, and it isn't a hotel. Neither is the template.

Every accommodation type attracts a different kind of guest, works through different channels, and needs different blocks to matter. A hostel guest books 2 to 4 days ahead on average through Hostelworld or Booking, compares prices per bed, and looks at the vibe. A B&B guest googles the destination, reads reviews, and prefers to book directly with you. An independent hotel with 20 rooms deals with OTA commissions of 40 to 60 percent and wants to bring that down to 25 percent or lower. The template is set up per type. You fill in your own content through a dashboard, and we keep it live on your own domain.

Below are the four segments, each with its own template and style. Glampsites fall under camping, family hotels under independent hotel.
HotelsOTA commission up to 60%

Independent hotel, 10 to 30 rooms

OTA commissions on smaller hotels quickly run up to 40 to 60 percent of revenue. Since September 2024, you're allowed to be cheaper on your own site than on Booking.com. The template gives you your own online storefront where guests book directly, without sales contact or an agency.

HostelsAvg. 24% commission

Hostel, 15 to 50 beds

Hostelworld and Booking take a combined average of 24 percent commission. The margin lies in repeat guests and visibility beyond the major platforms. You build your own site through a simple dashboard and run it on your own domain.

Bed & breakfast80%+ of guests google first

B&B, 4 to 12 rooms

Local visibility is the key. Most B&B guests search Google by destination, read reviews, and prefer to call or email directly. The template is built for local SEO, a booking button, and reviews, so guests find you and book directly.

Camping & glampingRepeat guests = 0% commission

Campsite or glampsite, 20 to 150 spots

Campers are loyal, but platforms and guides charge commission or listing fees on every booking. The template shows spots and accommodations side by side, with the grounds and surroundings as the main attraction and its own booking button.

Vacation rental & AirbnbAirbnb fee 15.5% + 21% VAT

Standalone spot: vacation home, garden cabin, or farmhouse

Renting out a whole place through Airbnb? Since 2026, Airbnb takes 15.5 percent plus 21 percent VAT on top. The template gives your own place a home online: one spot in the spotlight, a booking request for repeat guests, and local visibility, alongside your Airbnb listing.

Glampsites and family hotels

Run a glampsite or family hotel? You fit into one of the four segments. Glampsites use the camping template: spots and accommodations side by side, with the grounds in the spotlight. We treat family hotels as independent hotels. The selection guide quickly shows you what fits best. Add me to the waitlist or view all plans.
Does Hotelmark work for glampsites too?
Yes. Glampsites use the camping template: spots and accommodations side by side, the grounds and nature in the spotlight, and its own booking button. Join the waitlist to see which plan fits you.
I run a family hotel with 22 rooms. Where do I fit?
Family hotels mostly fit into the hotel segment. The target audience and channels differ, but the challenge is the same: less dependence on OTAs like Booking.com, a higher direct booking ratio, and better visibility outside the Randstad.
What if I need blocks from multiple segments?
That happens more often. A 14-room boutique hotel sometimes needs the same direct booking strategy as a larger B&B. The selection guide maps your situation and points you to the right template.
